The Vinaigrette has an beautifully shaded, domed, agate cover with gold band and claw mount.  The unusual, tapering, agate sides also display gold horizontal bands and the base is also inset with a shaded agate panel.  The gold grille is unusually front opening and is pierced with plain roundels to simulate a stylised flowerhead.  This style of grille piercing was popular with the early vinaigrettes.  This is a most unusual design, and its production has been executed to the highest standard.  This example is in excellent condition.
