The Beaker is plain in design, with slightly tapering sides, rising to an everted rim decorated with reeding. The interior displays fine gilding and the front is engraved with an unusual contemporary Crest, issuing from the Coronet of a Marquis. The base displays exceptional marks, including a very good York Town mark, all in a measured circle, typical of the care York silversmiths took with such matters. As you will appreciate, Georgian Beakers from York are extremely rare, especially so well marked and in such good condition.
Height: 3 inches, 7.5 cm.
Diameter at the rim: 2.75 inches, 6.88 cm.
Weight: 3.7 oz.
