The Teapot is modelled in the serpentine design. The sides are engraved with an upper and lower frieze of ovals and crosses within a prick dot frame. The front and reverse display a most wonderful floral garland executed to the finest standard surrounding a navette shaped bright cut cartouche, the front containing a contemporary Crest and the reverse being vacant. The spout is also decorated with trailing foliate designs tied with ribbons. The fruitwood handle is attached to the main body with tubular mouldings decorated with reeding. The top rises to a hinged, domed, cover decorated with reeding as well as punched bead designs, herring bone pattern and a raying sunburst oval surrounding the fruitwood finial. The Teapot is very well marked on the base and with the maker's mark and sterling mark on the underside of the cover.
