A very fine pair of George III Cast Sauceboats made in London in 1774 by Parker & Wakelin.

The Sauceboats stand on an oval cast pedestal foot decorated with gadrooning. The elongated baluster main body also displays a gadrooned rim and the front is engraved with the contemporary Armorial of a Lady, in a lozenge, surrounded by a crossed branch cartouche. Each has a reeded loop handle and is very well marked in the foot. The Arms are those of a Lady of the Bourne family of London. This family were prosperous city merchants at this time. The work of Parker and Wakelin is nearly always of the finest quality, as they were widely patronised by the Royal and Noble families.
