The Wine Coaster is circular in form with a spreading base and beaded rim. The sides are pierced and engraved with ovals containing trailing flowerheads, in addition to prick dot decoration. This piece is engraved with the lozenge shaped Armorial of a Lady and displays its original turned fruitwood base. The Wine Coaster is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the base. William Plummer was a specialist pierced worker who made very fine baskets, salt cellars, mustard pots and wine coasters.
