The Vinaigrette is oval in form and is engraved with chequered designs on the cover and base. The sides are decorated with prick dot and herring bone bands. The interior grille is pierced and engraved with a most unusual sunburst design. very few vinaigrettes were made before 1800, therefore this piece represents an early example.
