The main bodies of the beakers are constructed from horn and have a slightly tapering form.  Each has a plain silver rim and the sides are most unusually decorated with scenes from an English Fox Hunt, depicting the Master of the Hunt, huntsman blowing a hunting horn,  pack of Hounds in full cry and Ladies and Gentleman, in period costume, riding out to hounds.  The scenes are depicted in a rural landscape with trees and stylised dwellings.  Both beakers display different scenes and, although naively done, the scenes are very detailed.  The Beakers are also engraved with a set of Betrothal initials, so they may well be given as a wedding present.  The base is also engraved with an initial "S" which may denote the giver, possibly another member of the family.  This is also the first time we have seen a Lady depicted in a hunting scene, who may represent the bride.  She is riding side saddle and is wearing a beautiful costume with large plume in her hair.  Both pieces are in excellent condition and are a very rare survivor.

 Length: 3,65 inches.

Diameter at the rim: 3.25 inches.
