The Coaster is circular in form with a gadrooned rim and base. The sides are pierced with an unusual design made up of inter-locking roundels. The front of the Coaster displays a rectangular cartouche engraved with a contemporary Crest, with the Coronet of an Earl above. The Crest and Coronet are those as used by David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassilis of Culzean Castle, Ayreshire, Scotland. The Coaster has its original fruitwood base centred with a central silver boss with reeded edge.
