The Basket stands on an oval foot which is decorated with gadrooning. The main body also displays a gadrooned and twisted ropework rim and is also pierced and engraved with a most unusual band of stylised foliate motifs. The centre of the bowl is engraved with a contemporary Armorial, with Crest above, all surrounded by a crossed branch cartouche tied with ribbons. The basket is very well marked and has a reeded arched handle. A most unusual design. The Arms are those of Kemish family of County Lancaster.
