The Salver is of a shaped circular form with a raised moulded rim, which gives it a more dish like appearance. The main body is flat chased with rocaille husks, leaves, fruit and flower heads, all in the Scottish manner, around a plain central section. The salver stands on three hoof feet and is engraved, in the centre, with a contemporary Crest, which in heraldic terms is “A pelican in her piety”. The Salver is in excellent condition and has a good colour. It is very well marked on the reverse with IG in a shaped punch twice, the letter “S” and the Town Mark.
Length: 8.35 inches, 20.88 cm.
Weight: 12.5 oz.
