The Spoons are modelled in a square, cut cornered, form with a prick dot outer border.  The centre is engraved with a stylized Tudor Rose and the backs have plain applied rings.  Each button is marked on the reverse with the maker’s mark of HB conjoined in a shaped punch, which is shown in Jackson’s “Silver & Gold Marks” on page 104.

The Buttons are all contained within a later velvet lined leather case from the eminent 20th Century Silver dealers “How of Edinburgh” one of the foremost and most famous British silver dealers of the last century. A picture of Mrs How, with her great Old English Mastiffs, outside St James’s Palace, is shown.  The Buttons also still have their original ticket

Elizabeth I Buttons are extremely rare and to find a set is important and very desirable.

Diameter of the Buttons: 0.75 inches, 1.88 cm.
