The Porringer is circular in form and is decorated, on the lower half of the main body, with alternate swirling flutes and lobes below a punched band of stylised foliate motifs. The upper section displays a protruding lobed band, below an engraved band of crescents and stylised flower heads. This example has two cast S scroll handles, is engraved on the base with two contemporary initials, and displays a good set of hall marks on the side of the main body.
