The Wine Label is silver gilt, heavy die stamped, and modelled in a substantial size. This piece is of the stylised escutcheon form with a slightly domed body and border decorated with crisp acathus foliage, lobes, scrolls, and raying shells. The top displays a wide Rococo shell flanked by two beautiful flower heads in roundels. The label displays the title, MADEIRA, in raised lettering on a matted ground. The label displays crisp marks and a substantial chain, in keeping with the nature of the label. This example is in exceptionally, crisp, condition. Wine Labels by Paul Storr are very rare and this is one of the finest we have seen over the years.
