The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form and has chased floral edges to the cover and base. The base is finely engraved with pluming scrolls, around a central vacant shield shaped cartouche, all on a scratch engraved ground. The sides display unusual stylised wheat ear designs. The cover displays a very detailed scene depicting The Scott Memorial in high relief, which is in very crisp condition. The interior is very well marked and displays original gilding. The grille is pierced and engraved with vases of trailing flowers and thistles. The underside of the grille is marked with the duty mark. The quality of this piece is exceptional as one would expect from this maker and the condition is excellent.
