The Teapot is modelled in the straight sided oval form with a beaded band at the base. The incuse top has a beaded rim and rises to a slightly domed hinged cover which terminates in a silver and fruitwood finial. This piece has a straight spout and fruitwood scroll handle. The front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by an oval bright cut cartouche, with crossed branches below and tied ribbons above. The reverse is also engraved with the same oval cartouche containing contemporary script initials, with a foliate sprig below. The teapot is fully marked on the base and with the makers mark and sterling mark on the cover. This example is in quite excellent condition.
