The Cellars each stand on four hoof feet which are attached to the main body with unusual stylised shell mouldings. Each piece is oval in form, with baluster sides, and display an everted gadrooned rim. The sides of the main body are engraved with a set of contemporary initials and they have blue glass liners. The Cellars are fully marked on the bases and are in quite excellent condition. This is the first time we have seen this solid style made by Hester Bateman, as she usually made the pierced variety.
