To find Nut Crackers in silver is extremely rare from this date.  This exceptional pair are cast, silver gilt, and most unusually are reversible for two different sizes of nut.  The arms are beautifully shaped and decorated with leaf capping, raised Rococo shells and flower heads.  The top section has a hatched surface where the nuts would be cracked.  Their weight and quality of procuction is outstanding, as would be expected from this partnership, who made the finest flatware and serving pieced during this period.  The Nut Crackers are in excellent condition and are marked on each of the arms and on the central arch, joining the arms.
