The Souffle Dish is of circular form with an everted rim. This example has two naturalistic branch handles and the interior liner is also made of silver. It is most unusual to find one with a silver liner, as they are so often made of Old Sheffield Plate. Both the liner and the front of the main body are engraved with a contemporary Crest and both are fully marked. The base is also engraved with GARRARDS, Panton Street, LONDON. Garrards were The Crown Jewellers and had the Royal Appointment of Queen Victoria. The quality of this piece is outstanding and in our opinion, Garrard made some of the finest Souffle Dishes, however few appear on the market today. By their very nature they can be used for serving a variety of things on the dining table.
