A very rare naturalistic Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham by Hilliard & Thomason in 1857

Sold

The Caddy spoon is modelled in a naturalistic design by Hilliard & Thomason, which does not seem to be shown in any of the caddy spoon books.  This example has a matted twisted lily pad handle and very unusual silver gilt, fluted, raying shell bowl.  The spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked on one of the lily pads.

Length: 3.15 inches, 7.88 cm.

Width, across the bowl: 1.75 inches, 4.38 cm.
