Drinking Mugs are very rare from the Hennell workshops.  This particular design is baluster in form and stands on a spreading foot.  It is, however, most unusually textured to simulate basket weave, with an entwined corded handle.  The base is very well marked and is engraved with a set of script initials and the presentation date, 17th September, 1871.  This example is in excellent condition and displays a palely gilded interior, a sign of quality production.

Height: 4 inches, 10cm.

Base Diameter: 2.5 inches, 6.25 cm.

Weight: 6oz.
