Each bowl stands on a circular spreading foot.  The large main body rises to a rim engraved with an unusual stylised laurel and berry band, flanked by a matted frame.  The cast side handles are modelled as beautifully detailed entwined serpents with an egg in their mouths.  Each is very well marked and engraved in the foot with a contemporary Crest.  Both are in excellent crisp condition.  Charles Reilly and George Storer made quality output and operated from workshops in 6, Carey Lane, London.  The Crest is that as used by John Hope-Johnston, 5th Earl of Hopetoun of Hopetoun House, Scotland.

Daimeter: 10 inches.

Length, handle to handle: 12.75 inches.

Weight: 80oz, the pair.
