The base is circular in form with a raised edge which is decorated with an applied beaded band.  The central section raises to a tulip shaped socket and the detachable nozzle has a beaded edge.  The scroll side handle is also decorated with a reeded band and has a holder for the conical extinguisher.  The extinguisher terminates in an urn finial and has a reeded base.  The Chamberstick is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the base and with the maker's mark and sterling mark on the nozzle and the maker's mark on the extinguisher.  Chamber and conventional Candlesticks are very rare by Hester Bateman.  The base is engraved with an unusual contemporary double Crest.
