The Basket stands on a sixteen sided pedestal foot decorated with reeding and engraved with bright cut and wriggle work designs.  The main body also has sixteen different sides and rises to the beautiful bat wing shaped rim, also decorated with reeding.  The sides are engraved with an upper bright cut and wriggle work band and the front and reverse are engraved with a shield shaped cartouche, each containing a different contemporary Crest.  The reeded handle has a bat wing shape and is divided into eight curved sections.  The basket is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot and with the sterling mark on the handle.  The interior displays deep, original, gilding.
