A very fine early George III Cream Pail made in London in 1769 by Francis Spilsbury II

The Pail is of a slightly tapering form and has a gadrooned rim and twsited ropework arched handle. The sides of the main body are divided into separate vertical pails which are pierced and engraved with foliate scroll work and stylised flower heads. The Pail has a blue glass liner and is fully marked on the base. Francis Spilsbury II made some of the finest pierced items at this date and had a reputation for fine quality workmanship.
Height to the rim: 2.25 inches, 5.63cm.
Diameter at the rim: 2.9 inches, 7.25cm.
