The Salad Servers have Old English Thread pattern handles, which are double struck. The fork has a wide blade with six tines. Both pieces are in excellent condition and are well marked. Salad Servers from the Georgian period, of this form, are scarce. The handles were made by Joseph Taconet, who specialised in handle making and are also hallmarked for 1805. Handles were usually by a specialist maker and the main section will be made by a different silversmith. Eley & Fearn were specialist flatware and serving piece makers.
