This rare piece is cylindrical in form and would have been used to keep needles in, the needles most probably attached to a small piece of felt.  This piece is cylindrical in form and is decorated with roundels, with lozenges inside, all containing filigree scroll work. Both the base and the "pull-off" cover is slightly domed and is decorated in the form of a stylised raying flower head, terminating in a ball finial.  This piece is in quite excellent condition, has a length of 2.2 inches and a diameter of 0.65 inches.
