The Basket stands on a circular pedestal foot which is decorated with beading and reeded bands. The rim of the main body and swing handle are also decorated with beading and this example has a blue glass liner. The sides of the main body are pierced and engraved with two rows of continuous flower heads, as well as larger flower heads in roundels. The front also displays a plain circular disc which is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The basket is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the base of the foot. Charles Aldridge and Henry Green were fine maker’s who made very good pierced work, of unusual design.
