This fine piece is modelled in the "Drum" form with a spreading foot and beaded rim.  The main body is pierced with bands of horizontal bluebell drops and vertical pierced pails, interspersed with Neo Classical urns in roundels.  The hinged cover is engraved with an outer bright cut band and the main body is also decorated with wriggle work bands.  The scroll handle is attached to the cover with a fan shaped thumb piece.  The pot displays a blue glass liner and is fully marked on the base and with the sterling mark on the underside of the cover.  This piece is in quite excellent condition and the silversmith, Robert Hennell, made beautiful pierced items for the table at this date.
