This fine spoon is modelled in the Dognose style and displays a rat tail on the reverse of the bowl.  The top of the stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest and this piece displays a crisp set of marks.  The spoon is in excellent condition and has a good bowl and colour.  William Mathew was a fine, prolific, spoon maker during this period.
