The Tumbler Cup is of a large shallow form with thick rim and fine interior hammer marks from when it was originally raised.  The front is engraved with a contemporary Crest with the Motto, "For Right", above, engraved in the Scottish manner.  The reverse is engraved with a set of contemporary initials engraved in typical Scottish script, most probably referring to the donor of this piece.  The Crest is an eagle holding in dexter talon a sword and in sinister a pistol.  The Crest and Motto are those as used by the Graham-Stirling family.  The Tumbler Cup is in excellent condition and displays a full set of marks on the base.  Drinking Tumblers, of this early date, are exceptionally rare from Scotland.
