The box is beautifully modelled to simulate a harpsichord and the hinged cover displays an outer engraved beaded band and linear designs interspersed with floral rosettes. The front is finely modelled to simulate the keys and the base, and sides, are plain in design. The cover opens up to reveal a finely gilded interior and the incuse maker's mark in the base. This is a particularly rare design of Snuff Box from this early period.
Length: 3.25 inches, 8.13 cm.
Width of the keys: 2 inches, 5 cm.
