A very fine George II Silver Gilt Rococo Teether made, almost certainly, in London circa 1740/50.

The Teether is silver gilt,  is of a large size and has a shaped baluster form.  The main body is profusely decorated with chased scrolls, raying shell details, flower heads, including roses, and scale work, all in the high English Rococo tradition.  The bottom section displays a tapering fluted section, with reeded end, to which the coral is attached.  The top is decorated with swirl flutes and lobes, to which a suspensory ring is attached, which is chased with a flower head.  The decoration and chasing is in exceptionally crisp condition.  

Length: 5.45 inches, 13.63 cm.

Diameter, at its widest point, 0.95 inches, 2.38 cm.
