The Label is of the heavy die stamped variety and is of the shaped escutcheon form. This piece is of a design we had not previously seen before and is decorated with triple shells, acanthus foliage, scrolls, trailing vines and grapes. In addition the borders display flower heads including roses and fruit. The label also has one of the heaviest chains we have ever seen on a wine label. The decoration on the label is very crisp and this piece is pierced for MADEIRA. As you will appreciate Wine Labels by this famous contemporary of Paul Storr are very rare and the quality of this Royal silversmith is exceptional.
