The Spoons are modelled in a previously unknown pattern and, it is our opinion, that these may well have been a special commission. The stems are double struck and are decorated with thread edge borders and foliate motifs. The top section displays a wide cartouche, also displaying a single foliate motif and a raying shell motif. The reverse of the stem is beautifully engraved with a very detailed cipher, below a contemporary Crest, The reverse of the bowl is decorated with a foliate device and fruiting vines. Each spoon is very well marked and is of an exceptional gauge, having a very thick tip to each bowl. The spoons are of a good large size and would make quite some statement on the table. We feel that they have seen little use of the years, which accounts for their very fine condition.
