The Coffee Set was designed by Alex Styles and is modelled in a plain, angular, form with tapering pouring spouts and displaying an ebony handle on the Coffee Pot. The Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl have palely gilded interiors. All pieces are very well marked and are in excellent, original, condition. The base of each piece is engraved with the designers signature, above Garrard & Co Ltd, 112, Regent Street, W1. A similar set was designed by Alex Styles and presented to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales on the occasion of his investiture. Garrard & Company held the position as Royal Silversmiths and Crown Jewellers at this date.
