The Slice has a navette shaped blade pierced with unusual trailing flower heads in ovals, around a central raying flower head. The blade is also engraved with bright cut and prick dot bands. The outside of the blade is engraved with trailing floral designs and prick dot wavy bands. The handle is decorated with reeding and a central bright cut band on both the front and reverse. The front also displays a bright cut cartouche containing the contemporary script initial "M". The handle also displays a beaded band where it meets the blade. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse of the blade. The handle is also marked with the maker's mark of the handle maker, Moses Brent, as handles were always made by specialist maker's of such pieces and Moses Brent being the best.
