This box is modelled in the very rare "Coffin" form with a bright cut outer border enclosing crossed branch vacant cartouches and floral sprays.  This piece has a push mechanism on the side and a pierced tubular section at the top, to release the snuff.  The box is in exceptional condition, has fine marks and very fine interior gilding.  This is an extremely rare box and very few are known to exist.  Due to its rarity it was chosen to go on the front cover of the catalogue of the famous "Lion Collection of Boxes".
