A very fine William IV Butter Shell made in London in 1833 by The Barnards.

The main body is modelled as a raying scallop shell and stands on three whelk feet.  The carrying handle is decorated with a bold gadrooned rim and foliate motifs, and is engraved with a contemporary Crest.  The Shell is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the underside of the handle.
