The Sauceboat stands on a circular ring foot and displays a raised circular bowl, unusually, with a sparrow beak pouring spout on each side.  This piece has two "S" scroll handles and the side of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest.  The Sauceboat is fully marked in the foot and is in excellent condition, with a good colour.  It would appear that Daniel Piers specialised in the production of sauceboats.  He was of Huguenot descent and had workshops in Spur Street, Leicester Fields, when this piece was made.  He died in June 1758.  His maker's mark, as shown on the base, is illustrated in Jackson's Gold & Silver Marks on page 199.

Height: 2.25 inches.

Diameter, spout to spout: 6.25 inches.

Weight: 9oz.
