The Cork has a beautifully chased top displaying bands of flower heads and shells, below a balloon shaped motif similarly chased with a ring above. The banner is attached to the chased section and is engraved on each side with RUM. Most unusually, however, is that the banner is hinged and can move backwards and forwards, so that it can be packed away easily when not in use or when travelling. This is the first time we have seen this very rare design. This piece has its original cork and the base displays a plain silver mount. The top section, and the base mount, are well marked and this piece is in excellent condition.

Length: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.
Width of the banner: 1.5 inches, 3.75 cm.
