This very rare label is modelled in the rare heraldic style, with a narrow rectangular banner, with oval cartouche above, flanked by supporters. The borders are decorated with beading and this example is pierced for WHITE WINE.. The cartouche is engraved with a contemporary Crest and most unusally, this piece has been pierced upside down. A mistake which wine label collectors often find desirable. The label is in excellent condition. Although unmarked, this was a design which was made by Samuel Meriton.
Length: 1.75 inches, 4.38cm.
Width:1.1 inches, 2.75cm
