WILLIAM & MARY. An important and exceptionally rare 'Pear' shaped Drinking Mug made in London in 1693, makers mark of RT, see Jackson Page 145.
205507
The Mug is modelled in the very rare Pear shaped form, with a bellied main body and everted rim. The main body is plain in design and the applied scroll handle is decorated with linear bands. The front is engraved with a beautiful unusual Armorial, flanked with a crossed plume cartouche. The Mug displays its original interior hammer marks and is very well marked on the base. It has a very good colour and is in excellent condition. The makers mark of RT is illustrated on page 145 of Jacksons, Silver & Gold Marks. This is the first time we have offered a mug of this rare form.
