220797
The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form, with serpentine shaped sides. The cover is very finely engraved with a detailed view of an unusual aspect of St. Pauls Cathedral, surrounded by a prick dot engraved frame. The base is engraved with pluming scrolls around a vacant cartouche, all on a scratch engraved ground. The interior displays exceptional gilding and an unsual grille which opens from the front and which is pierced with feathery scrolls around a flower head. This unusual piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked.
