QUEEN ANNE. A rare Britannia Standard Tot Cup made in London in 1710 by James Goodwin.
288604
The Cup stands on a domed spreading foot which is decorated with a reeded band. The main body is plain in design, has an inverted bell shape and displays a reeded border on the everted rim. This is the earliest tot cup we have offered over the years and this example is well marked in the foot, is of a good colour and is in excellent condition. James Goodwin specialised in these small drinking cups and was working in Foster Lane, when this example was made. He died in 1729.
