PAUL STORR. An extremely rare pair of cast naturalistic Sugar Nips made in London in 1838 by Paul Storr.
282731
These exceptionally rare Sugar Nips are cast and are made in the naturalistic style, the main arms and grips being modelled as branches, with leaves attached. The central boss of the nips is decorated with a flower head and the arms and grips are decorated with beautifully detailed insects, bees, ladybirds and flower heads. The nips are fully marked on the leaf grips and are in excellent condition. Paul Storr retired in 1838 and this represents one of the last pieces which would have come from his workshops. This type of piece by Storr is extremely rare and examples seldom come onto the market.
