PAUL STORR. A very rare George III Wine Label made in London in 1818 by Paul Storr.

The label is silver gilt, is heavy die stamped, and is modelled in the unusual stylised escutcheon style which was a design which came from Storrs workshops. The label has an acanthus foliate top which flanks a Rococo shell motif. The border is decorated with gadrooning and is joined at the bottom with an anthemion. The label is engraved for RED CHAMPAIGNE. This piece is in excellent condition and has a good thick chain. Labels by Paul storr are rare, especially with this very rare title.

Width: 2.45 inches, 6.13cm.
