PAUL DE LAMERIE. An important George II Serving Plate made in London in 1748 by Paul De Lamerie
192954
The Plate has a square form with unusual incused shaped corners. The raised rim is decorated with a reed and tie border interspersed with Rococo shell motifs. The border is also engraved with a Goat Crest. The reverse is very well marked and is engraved in the centre with its original scratch weight. The Plate is in excellent condition and has a good colour. This design of border is a known pattern which was produced in the workshops of De Lamerie.
