NEWCASTLE. A George II Salver made in Newcastle in 1741 by James Kirkup.

The Salver stands on three hoof feet and displays an unusual shaped border decorated with two different sizes of shells. The centre of the Salver is engraved with a contemporary Armorial, surrounded by a foliate spray cartouche. The Salver is in excellent condition and displays crisp marks on the reverse.
