Nathaniel Mills. A very rare Vinaigrette, Salisbury Cathedral, made in Birmingham in 1847 by Nathaniel Mills.


This very rare silver gilt Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form with serpentine shaped sides engraved with a scroll work frame. The cover depicts a detailed view of Salisbury Cathedral, a very rare view to find on a Vinaigrette. The sides and base are engraved with engine turning and the base displays a central vacant disc cartouche. The interior grille is pierced and engraved with foliate scrolls and flower heads. A very rare box.
