The Basket stands on an oval pedestal foot decorated with beading. The Boat shaped main body has a beaded rim and reeded arched handle. The main body is pierced and engraved with a very unusual upper band of stylised foliate motifs with shaped arches above. The lower section of the body is pierced with flower heads in roundels and is also engraved with floral garlands and scroll work. The basket has a blue glass liner and is of exceptional quality and unusual design. This example is fully marked in the foot.
